Part 6 was commissioned by Dr. Leonard Candelaria for the University of North Texas Alumni Trumpet Ensemble s performance at the opening gala concert for the 2010 International Trumpet Guild conference in Sydney Australia. The work, featuring three trumpets and three flugelhorns, is filled with melodic contrapuntal ideas. Harmonically sophisticated, Part 6 is a great feature for a strong ensemble.
