Canzoni were pieces composed for a various combination of instruments and various sizes of ensembles. This is an arrangement for double sax quartet (SATB in each choir with an alternate part for alto to cover the soprano parts). Antiphonal spacing is always a successful performance practice allowing the passing of melodic material to be enhanced by the spatial distance.
