Written for Paul Brodie, this piece is designed in the form of a Baroque suite. Using both alto and soprano saxophones to expand the colour of the suite, Donald Coakley has created a brilliant work for unaccompanied saxophone. The technical passages, augmented with expressive lines, make Images a beautiful suite from top to bottom.
